Where have I been?

Wow. I haven't blogged for five days. I'm not sure how that happened, except that I have been busy, and, for at least the past few days the weather has been fantastic!

I got more goodies planted today. We now have two kinds of lettuce, spinach, mesclun, green onions, carrots, beets, turnips, kohlrabi, peas, and cilantro planted. I also planted some viola seeds and poppy seeds where our tree used to be.

My tan is coming back.

Sounds like we'll get rain tomorrow.

Under pressure

I can really identify with the phrase under the weather. That's how I spent Saturday afternoon and evening and most of Sunday. I have known for years that my joints react to humidity and temperature changes, but the reaction they had to the passing of the remnants of Ike was the worst I've ever experienced.

Apparently I'm not alone. I have talked to several people who had increased joint pain, severe whole-body pain, and headaches this weekend. I've read a couple of articles that point to changes in barometric pressure as the reason. They don't know why, but they believe that's the likely culprit.

Whatever it was, it even kept me away from my computer.

Sunshine

Today was beautiful. Sunny. It was a day to convince us that spring isn't far away.

Good times

It's snowing.

I've been scrapbooking since this afternoon.

The Patriots got beat.

Life is good.

The Eggs

This is the day of the six dozen eggs. I don't have pictures from this year yet, because it hasn't happened. But here's Patrick from last year. I also have a bunny cake to make today.

I would be more in the mood if there wasn't snow on the roofs!

Global swindle?

I would love for this video to be required viewing in every classroom where Algore's movie has been shown. The Great Global Warming Swindle is a BBC production. It is very scientific and rebuts many of the claims of An Inconvenient Truth.

I have only had time to watch part of it, but plan to watch the rest with my kids tonight.

Not on vacation

We have been looking forward to our Florida vacation for months, but sometimes things just don't go as planned. So instead of battling our way south through wicked weather last night we were having dinner before church with our friends, going to church, and then watching The Devil Wears Prada.

I still would like to be heading to the beach, but, since it isn't happening, Colin and the boys are going skiing Sunday and Monday and I am going scrapbooking with my friend Lori Saturday.

It's cold and windy with some blowing snow this morning. I think that Bethany and I are going to head out to the Home Show.

Snow day

Snowed in!

We are--quite contentedly--snowed in. Bethany's college classes were canceled and Colin was sent home from work late this morning. We had homemade hot chocolate and cinnamon muffins for breakfast. We watched the BBC Pride and Prejudice. We are eking every drop of enjoyment out of our day.

Here's the drift in front of our house as of about two hours ago. It just keeps growing! We have drifts of several feet next to completely bare spots.
