No more Idol for me

The American Idol season has come to an end at our house.

I cannot bear to watch Elliot and Katherine for one more week now that Chris is gone.
Maybe if Bethany were here to share the agony, I could handle it, but she is on the other side of the world.

Katherine is pretty and talented, but not at all my cup of tea. I actually am not crazy about female voices, for the most part. Elliot has a nice voice, but watching him is like nails on a blackboard. I don't know why, but he just bugs me.

And, as I've said before, I could take watching Taylor in a bar while I shared Lutheran beverages with some friends.

This is a good thing really, I need to be working as much as possible. Now I have one less distraction.

I very much agree.

I heard on the radio this morning that the viewers didn't actually vote Chris off. Since the band (I forget their name, but it was either Fuel or Fire) already talked to Chris about replacing their lead singer, he sort of forfeited his role on American Idol. Of course this is all rumor. You mentioned hearing sort of the same thing about the band deal. But Chris and everybody else (except Ryan) looked so absolutely stunned that it's hard to believe he knew about it beforehand. I'm very sad Chris is off the show. I have the same feelings as you do about the others.

Well, I'd take the various theories & explanations (including the ones from Chris, who's said something like "Well, of course I wasn't going to look happy...") as being no more than revisionist spin.

It's too bad that Chris is gone, as I think he & Taylor would've made the best final pair ever. That said, I'm just too much of an AI geek to stop watching -- I mean, if I sat through the farce that was Fantasia winning AI:3, then I can easily make it through the rest of AI:5! ;^)

I think I learned how fickle (or manipulated) those voters can be in AI1 when Tamyra was voted off 4th and some chick who could not sing a whit came in third.

It seems Tamyra has done a lot of singing since then, so the show did launch a career for her.

Chris will do fine, and maybe this way he won't be locked into any inequitable contracts. It will be fun to see how his career outshines the first, second and third places this year!

I don't get why people are so facinated with American Idol and all about it and whatnot...of course, I'm no authority since I don't really watch TV of my own accord ever. Oh well. From what I'd heard, most people at my school thought Chris would win and really wanted him to too.

*signs off*

Yeah, I've kinda lost the heart to watch too. I think Chris has a grand singing career ahead of him, anyway, though.
