Idols Singing Queen

Tonight the remaining American Idol contestants will sing songs by the rock group Queen. I both look forward to this and dread it. I look forward to it because I love Queen's music. I dread it because I love Queen's music.

TK at Katie's beer has posted a bit of a spoiler, listing which songs each contestant will sing tonight. Am I the only one who thinks that Kellie Pickler might be overreaching a bit with
Bohemian Rhapsody?

Hi Jane,

Rick and I have not followed this year the way we have previously. But we are planning to watch tonight with heavily guarded optimism. Gotta give credit to PBS here. In the past they have broadcast the most excellent Moody Blues concerts with the London Philharmonic and this year they played a Queen concert during the pledge drive period.

Rick's comment was "I hope nobody sings 'Bicycle' ". Ahem, I concur.

Wasn't that a fun show! I also grew up with the music of Queen and still enjoy it. I was really surprised that Queen night would produce better songs than the last two weeks. I did not enjoy Kellie's version of BoRhap, but I know others did. All things considered, it was a great show! What did you think?

I don't know -- a country music twang just does not go with any Queen song, especially Bohemian Rhapsody.
