We are--quite contentedly--snowed in. Bethany's college classes were canceled and Colin was sent home from work late this morning. We had homemade hot chocolate and cinnamon muffins for breakfast. We watched the BBC Pride and Prejudice. We are eking every drop of enjoyment out of our day.
Here's the drift in front of our house as of about two hours ago. It just keeps growing! We have drifts of several feet next to completely bare spots.
What this picture doesn't capture at all is the fantastic blowing snow. I love all of the little whirlwinds whipping the snow around

Yup, it was nice having a snow day over here in Valpo, too -- for both me and the kids (it's one of the perks of my working in higher-ed...).
And it'll be even nicer having another one tomorrow (Wed)!
It's really been something, just how steady the snow has been coming down over the past day, and the wind has also been quite troublesome, causing all sorts of drifing & just wreaking some general havoc with the efforts to clear the roads. And the back end of the storm is looking like it'll bring us some lake effect snow -- if that happens, then we could easily get another 6+ inches by the time it's all said and done.
NW Indiana is certainly interesting! ;^)
